The Launch
On Tuesday 19th May, the Sharper Choices Antisocial Reduction Unit Van officially opened its doors for its launch event — and what an incredible turnout it was. Hosted by Harmony Youth Project alongside the Westhoughton Hub Team, the day brought together young people, local organisations, schools, media teams, and community members to experience the new mobile youth engagement van firsthand.
Students from Westhoughton High School attended throughout the day, taking part in workshops, exploring the van, and learning more about the positive opportunities and support the project aims to provide within the community. The atmosphere throughout the day was full of energy, creativity, and excitement as young people engaged with activities designed to inspire, connect, and create safer spaces across local communities.
The launch also attracted major media attention, with coverage and attendance from BBC Radio 4, ITV Granada Reports, and The Bolton News. The event was featured on Granada Reports, helping showcase the positive impact the van is already beginning to make. This marks an exciting new chapter for the Sharper Choices Antisocial Reduction Unit, as the van will now begin travelling into communities, schools, and events to support young people directly where they are.
If any schools, colleges, universities, youth organisations, or community groups are interested in working with the project or booking the van for future events and workshops, please get in touch — we’d love to collaborate. The future is looking exciting, and this is only the beginning.
